FAQ

FORMULA FOR CALCULATING ENGINE ROOM CAPACITY

VOLUME:  Is in cubic metres for aerosol and gas systems.

LENGTH X WIDTH X DEPTH = VOLUME (M3)

NOTE:When calculating the overall volume for an aerosol or gas system, DO NOT take into account the mass of the engine/s. This is because when they are running they will take in some of the extinguishing agent, drawing it away from its intended purpose.

This is one of the reasons for measuring the engine space as an “empty room”. Vents and small unsealed gaps should also be taken into account. It is better to have more extinguishing agent to compensate for any loss.
